Dr. Holly Foster (she/her) is a Professor of Sociology & Chancellor EDGES Fellow at Texas A&M University as well as a Visiting Scholar at the American Bar Foundation in 25-26. She has worked at Texas A&M for 21 years, and teaches courses on criminology, gender and crime, a graduate course on crime, punishment, and the life course, as well as other topics. She has a book forthcoming on the experiences of women in prison in relation to their families outside, focusing on how stress, social support, as well as maternal efficacy are influential on women’s emotions and health in prison. Foster began volunteering with the Women’s Story Book project in 2023 and joined the board in the Fall of 2024. She is passionate about WSP’s mission to connect mothers in prison to their children outside through literacy.
