Hold a Book and Fund Drive
Students from the Dynamic DIVA Dawgs and Bulldog Bros at Burnet Middle School chose Women’s Storybook Project as their philanthropy project for the 2018-2019 school year. They learned about our work, raised money, collected new books and even volunteered at the Barnes and Noble Holiday Book Drive. Their impact was tremendous! Host an Open Book Party
Host an Open Book Party - Do you love Women’s Storybook Project? An Open Book Party is the perfect way to share your enthusiasm with your friends, neighbors and colleagues and raise awareness about WSP. You choose the date and time and invite 30-40 people. A WSP representative will give a brief presentation, and our staff will help you every step of the way. Your commitment? Two hours, refreshments, pre-party planning and clean-up.

Freethink video
Freethink, an internet news organization, made a video showing how mothers connect with their children through reading. One mom states, “I love her, I’m never going to stop loving her - no matter what happens - and I want her to know that.” The simple sharing of a storybook can have a big impact on a family dealing with parental incarceration.

Children of offenders haven’t committed a crime.
At Women’s Storybook Project, we help incarcerated mothers record stories and messages for their children. For many families, these stories help to strengthen and heal damaged relationships and build hope for the future. By participating in this program, mothers can show their children that they are loved and missed.

Barnes and Noble Holiday Book Drive nets over 1,000 books for children in need!
We’d like to thank the generous folks in Austin who, throughout the holiday season, opened their hearts to learn about the mission of Women’s Storybook Project and donated books to our program while shopping at the Sunset Valley Barnes and Noble store.
