Our New Chapter Begins: Amplify Austin 2026 Recap
March 6, 2026
In 24 hours, 78 donors raised $16,898.41. With our $10,000 match, we reached $26,898.41—surpassing our goal.
Why We Asked
After moving into a new office space, we needed to complete what we started: area rugs for recording rooms, storage for our book library, a coffee station for volunteers, desk lighting, and the essentials that create functional workspace where incarcerated mothers record stories for their children.
What Happened
At 6pm on March 4, we launched with a video of two boys—one reading along with his mother’s recorded voice, the other saying “I miss my mom.”
Throughout the campaign, we shared stories: mothers grateful for the chance to “connect with my kids in a way I never would have been able to otherwise,” our founder’s vision for reentry support, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of our work.
On March 5, our Open House brought the community together. Supporters toured our new space, met our team, and gave—both online and in person.
The Voice That Mattered Most
During the campaign, Jenn Ochoa, a WSP alumna from 12 years ago, publicly shared her story:
“Programs like this don’t just send books—they bring hope. They help create a path toward healing and a new beginning for the relationship between a parent and child.”
Twelve years later, Jenn is still championing this mission. That’s lasting impact.
The Results
- 78 donors (22 first-time supporters)

What’s Next
Your gifts are funding area rugs for better recording quality, storage systems for our library, a coffee station for volunteers, and equipment that helps our team work more efficiently.
Most importantly: the infrastructure to expand programs and reach more mothers and children who need connection.
